Dennis Stokes
Dennis Wilfrid Stokes (26 January 1911 – 14 November 1998) was an English cricketer known for his skills as a wicket-keeper and right-handed batsman. Born in Reading, Berkshire, Stokes attended Wellingborough School in Northamptonshire. He made his debut for Berkshire in the 1928 Minor Counties Championship and played his first-class debut for the Minor Counties against Oxford University in 1927. Stokes served as Berkshire captain from 1937 until 1954, a position he held both before and after World War II. He was known for his contributions to the sport and his dedication to his team throughout his career.
