Dewey Weber Biography
Dewey Weber (August 18, 1938 - January 6, 1993) was an American surfer, surfboard manufacturing businessman, and film subject. Born in Denver, Colorado, Weber grew up in a working-class family and developed a love for the water at a young age. He excelled in various sports, becoming a national yo-yo champion and a CIF wrestling champion. In the 1950s and 1960s, Weber gained recognition for his unique surfing style. He appeared in several feature films and later established a successful surfboard manufacturing company. Weber's contributions to the surfing community were honored with a sculpture inspired by a photo of him at the Hermosa Beach Community Center.
