Diane English
Diane English (born May 18, 1948) is an American screenwriter, producer, and director. She is best known for creating the television show Murphy Brown, which has won multiple awards, including 18 Primetime Emmy Awards from 62 nominations. English also wrote and directed the 2008 feature film The Women. Throughout her career, she has received numerous awards and nominations, including three Emmy Awards. English was born in Buffalo, New York, and graduated from Nardin Academy and Buffalo State College. She began her career at WNET, where she worked as a story editor and associate director. English also wrote a monthly column on television for Vogue magazine from 1977 to 1980.
