Divine Brown

Divine Brown, originally known as Divine Earth Essence, is a Canadian R&B and soul singer and theatre performer. Born on September 9, 1974, in Toronto, Ontario, Brown grew up with Jamaican parents. She started her singing career in local nightclubs and gained recognition with her 2005 Canadian radio hit 'Old Skool Love'. The song earned her a SOCAN No. 1 Song Award. Brown's debut album, self-titled Divine Brown, was released on the independent Blacksmith label. Despite not having an album prior to 2005, she was invited to perform at various music festivals worldwide. She is also a single mother with one daughter.
