Dolores Mary Eileen O'Riordan (6 September 1971 – 15 January 2018) was an Irish singer, musician, and songwriter. She was the lead vocalist and lyricist of alternative rock band the Cranberries, known for her distinctive mezzo-soprano voice, yodeling, and strong Limerick accent. Born in County Limerick, Ireland, to a working-class family, O'Riordan began her music career as a soloist in her church choir before joining the Cranberries in 1990. She achieved worldwide fame and released seven studio albums with the band, including four number-one albums. O'Riordan made significant contributions to the release of several popular albums such as Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? (1993) and No Need to Argue (1994).
