    Don Hudson Biography
    Donald Edward Hudson (November 20, 1929 – September 30, 2018) was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Macalester College from 1972 to 1975 and at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri from 1976 to 1979. Hudson compiled a career college football record of 9–72–2. He became the first African-American head football coach at a predominantly white college in the modern era when he was hired at Macalester. Hudson's milestone was barely publicized by Macalester, leading to subsequent reports of other predominantly white schools hiring their first African-American head football coaches. Hudson was recognized for his breakthrough in October 2007.
