    Don Imus Biography
    Don Imus (1940-2019) was an American radio personality, television show host, recording artist, and author. He gained fame as the host of the radio show 'Imus in the Morning,' which was broadcasted nationwide until 2018. Imus started his career in radio at KUTY in Palmdale, California, before landing the morning broadcast position at WNBC in New York City. After being fired from WNBC in 1977, he briefly worked at WHK in Cleveland before being rehired by WNBC in 1979. When WNBC left the air in 1988, his show moved to WFAN. Imus adopted the national syndication model in 1993, following the success of Howard Stern. He was labeled as a 'shock jock' in his later career and was fired by CBS Radio in 2007 for controversial remarks about the Rutgers University women's basketball team.
