Donald Fisher
Donald George Fisher (September 3, 1928 – September 27, 2009) was an American billionaire businessman and philanthropist. He co-founded The Gap Inc. clothing stores with his wife Doris F. Fisher. Fisher was born in San Francisco, California to a Jewish family and spent his childhood in the Sea Cliff neighborhood. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. in business administration in 1951. Afterward, he served as a U.S. Naval Reserve officer and worked for his father's cabinet-making firm. In the 1960s, Fisher ventured into hotel renovation and real estate. He is best known for his successful business ventures and his contribution to the fashion industry.
