Donald Grant
Donald MacLennan Grant (26 February 1888 – 11 June 1970) was a Scottish-born Australian political activist and leader of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) in Sydney. He was a prominent member of the Sydney Twelve, a group charged with conspiracy in 1916, and later joined the Australian Labor Party. Grant served on the Sydney City Council, the New South Wales Legislative Council, and was elected to the Australian Senate in 1943, where he served for sixteen years. Known for his captivating public speaking skills, Grant often spoke against conscription and advocated for militant direct action against war and capitalism. He was a key figure in the IWW's efforts to promote workers' rights in Australia.
