Doris Packer Biography
Doris Packer (May 30, 1904 – March 31, 1979) was an American actress known for her recurring role as Mrs. Cornelia Rayburn in the television series, Leave It to Beaver. She also portrayed the mother of Chatsworth Osborne, Jr. on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. Packer had an aristocratic and intellectual bearing and was known for her precise use of the English language. Born in Menominee, Michigan, she moved to southern California as a child and became interested in acting in high school. After attending the University of California at Los Angeles, she studied under Evelyn Thomas in New York City and appeared in Broadway shows. Packer also served in the U.S. Army Women's Corps during World War II.
