Doug James Biography
Doug James is a former American football player who played for the University of Michigan Wolverines from 1980 to 1984 under coach Bo Schembechler. Born on July 17, 1962, in Louisville, Kentucky, James was an all-state football player at DeSales High School in 1979. He joined the Wolverines with his high school teammate Bubba Paris, who went on to win three Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers. During his time at Michigan, James wore jersey number 73 and played multiple positions on both offense and defense. He achieved honorable mention All-Big Ten at offensive tackle in 1983 and second team All-Big Ten at offensive guard.
