Doug Long
Doug Long (28 March 1940 – 9 February 2009) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Geelong in the VFL and Glenelg in the SANFL. He began his career as a ruckman with Geelong, playing for five seasons and participating in their 1961 Night Premiership win. Long moved to South Australia in 1962 and became the captain-coach of Glenelg at the age of 22. He represented South Australia seven times and was inducted into Glenelg's 'Hall of Fame' in 2006. Long continued to serve Glenelg as a player and was often utilized as a full-back when Neil Kerley was coach. He made significant contributions to both leagues during his career.
