Edwyn Charles Huang is an American author, chef, restaurateur, food personality, producer, and former attorney. Born on March 1, 1982, in Washington, D.C., he was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, and later moved to Orlando, Florida. Huang's parents, Jessica and Louis Huang, were immigrants from Taiwan. He co-owned BaoHaus, a gua bao restaurant in the East Village of Lower Manhattan, and hosted the show Huang's World for Viceland. Huang's autobiography, Fresh Off the Boat: A Memoir, was adapted into the ABC sitcom Fresh Off the Boat, on which he narrated the first season. With a deep appreciation for African-American culture, particularly hip-hop, Huang has made a name for himself in the culinary and entertainment industries.
