Edith Meiser (May 9, 1898 – September 26, 1993) was an American author and actress who made significant contributions to the world of mystery novels, stage plays, and radio dramas. One of her notable accomplishments was bringing adaptations of Sherlock Holmes stories to radio in the 1930s. Meiser had a diverse career, serving as a member of the Actors Equity board of governors and chairwoman of the Equity Library Theater. She received her education at the Liggett School, Kox Schule in Dresden, Germany, and the Ecole de la Cour de St. Pierre in Geneva, Switzerland before attending Vassar College. Meiser's acting career included performances with prestigious groups such as the American Shakespeare Festival, The Theater Guild, and Edward Albee's vaudeville circuit. She made her Broadway debut in 1923 in The New Way.
