Ella Jones

Ella Jones (born 1955) is an American chromatographer, pastor, and politician. She is currently serving as the 12th mayor of Ferguson, Missouri, making her the first African-American and woman elected to this position. Prior to her political career, Jones worked as a high pressure liquid chromatographer at the Washington University School of Medicine and KV Pharmaceutical. She later became a sales director with Mary Kay. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. In addition to her mayoral role, Jones has also served on the United States Environmental Protection Agency Local Government Advisory Committee. In 2017, she ran for mayor, receiving 42.77% of the vote.
