Ellis Rabb
Ellis Rabb (June 20, 1930 – January 11, 1998) was an American actor and director. In 1959, he founded the Association of Producing Artists (APA), a theatre company that brought new works and notable revivals to Broadway and regional theaters. The APA merged with the Phoenix Theatre in 1964, forming the APA-Phoenix. Under this name, they staged successful Broadway revivals of plays such as Man and Superman, The Show Off, Right You Are If You Think You Are, and Hamlet (with Rabb in the title role). The APA-Phoenix received a special Tony Award for distinguished achievement. Rabb's acting career included notable performances in David Mamet's A Life in the Theatre and The Man Who Came to Dinner. He also directed a production of A Streetcar Named Desire in 1973.
