Emily Levine (October 20, 1944 – February 3, 2019) was an American humorist, writer, actress, and public speaker. Known for her comedic approach to philosophy, she was recognized as a philosopher comic. Levine's career spanned various roles, including being part of an improv comedy group, writing for television sitcoms, and performing stand-up comedy. She also wrote and performed Emmy-winning commercial satire segments for television. Levine gained significant acclaim for her one-woman shows, 'Myself, Myself, I'll Do It Myself' and 'Common Sense'. Born in Nashville and raised in Connecticut and Brooklyn, she settled in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where she attended Harvard University and acted alongside fellow student John Lithgow. Levine graduated cum laude from Harvard, majoring in English.
