Emily Young

Emily Young FRBS (born 1951) is a British sculptor known for her stone sculptures. Born in London into a family of artists, writers, and politicians, Young has established herself as one of Britain's most renowned stone sculptors. She divides her time between studios in London and Italy. Young's parents were Elizabeth Young, a writer and commentator, and Wayland Young, 2nd Baron Kennet, a politician, conservationist, and writer. Her grandparents include Hilton Young, 1st Baron Kennet, a politician and writer, and Kathleen Scott, a sculptor and the widow of Robert Falcon Scott. Young received her education at various schools in London. She initially pursued painting before finding her passion in sculpture.
