Emmanuel Lemelson
Emmanuel Lemelson, born Gregory Manoli Lemelson on June 29, 1976, in Phoenix, Arizona, is an American-born Greek Orthodox priest, social commentator, and hedge fund manager. He founded the internet company Amvona, which operated from 1999 to 2010 before he was ordained as a Greek Orthodox priest in 2011. In 2012, Lemelson established Lemelson Capital Management and launched The Amvona Fund, a hedge fund that follows Christian ethics. However, in September 2018, he faced legal action from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for various infractions related to a short sale. A federal jury imposed fines and a 5-year injunction against Lemelson for securities violations. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Religious Studies from Seattle University and attended Hellenic College Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology.
