Arnold George Dorsey, known professionally as Engelbert Humperdinck, is a British pop singer who gained international recognition in 1967 with his recording of "Release Me". Starting as a performer in the late 1950s as Gerry Dorsey, he later adopted the stage name Engelbert Humperdinck. Managed by Gordon Mills, Humperdinck achieved success with ballads such as "The Last Waltz", "There Goes My Everything", and "Am I That Easy to Forget". His singles topped the UK Singles Chart and sold over a million copies each. With a large following, he is often referred to as one of the finest middle-of-the-road balladeers. Born on May 2, 1936, Humperdinck continues to entertain audiences worldwide.
