Eric Abraham

Eric Kingsley Abraham (20 April 1898 – 20 March 2003) was an Australian World War I veteran known for being the last surviving recruit of Australia's March of the Dungarees. Born in Australia, Abraham worked as a postal officer before being recruited in Ipswich, Queensland in 1915. Despite being only 17 at the time, he convinced his mother to sign the enlistment form stating he was over 18. Abraham served in the 5th Division, participating in battles such as the Battle of Amiens, the Battle of Passchendaele, and operations in Villers-Bretonneux and Morlancourt. He witnessed the famous occasion when The Red Baron was shot down. Abraham passed away on 20 March 2003.
