    Eric Anthony Mangini, also known as 'the Mangenius', is a former American football coach and current television sports analyst. He was born on January 19, 1971. Mangini had a successful coaching career, serving as the head coach of the New York Jets from 2006 until 2008 and the Cleveland Browns from 2009 to 2010. Before joining the San Francisco 49ers as a tight ends coach in 2013, he worked as an NFL analyst for ESPN. Mangini is renowned for his tenure as the assistant under Bill Belichick, both with the New York Jets and the New England Patriots, and he eventually became the defensive coordinator for the Patriots in 2005.
