Eric Orr (1939–1998) was an American artist known for his contributions to the Light and Space movement. Born in 1939, Orr began his artistic career in Venice, California, where he lived and worked until his passing in 1998. Prior to his move to Los Angeles, Orr was involved in civil rights work in Mississippi. His artistic practice encompassed various mediums, such as installation art, sculpture, painting, and performance art. Orr's work challenged conventional notions of art-making and incorporated cultural references from ancient religions, Egyptian symbolism, and Buddhist spiritualism. He exhibited internationally, including at documenta VII, the Sydney Biennale, and the Venice Biennale. Orr's works can be found in public and private collections, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
