Erika Sawajiri Biography
Erika Sawajiri (沢尻 エリカ) is a Japanese former actress, singer, and model. She began her career as a junior model in 2001 and made her acting debut in 2002. Sawajiri gained recognition for her roles in various films and TV shows, including Break Through!, Shinobi: Heart Under Blade, and 1 Litre of Tears, receiving several newcomer acting awards. She also launched a successful singing career with the release of her song 'Taiyō no Uta,' which was certified Million by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. After a hiatus from the industry in 2007, Sawajiri returned to acting in 2010 and earned a Best Leading Actress nomination at the Japan Academy Film Prize for her role in Helter Skelter. In 2019, she was arrested for drug possession.
