Estevan Oriol is a Mexican-Italian photographer and director hailing from Los Angeles. Born in Santa Monica, California, Oriol is best known for his gritty 35mm black and white work, which beautifully captures chicano and cholo culture, as well as Los Angeles gang culture. His iconic photographs have been featured in magazines, on album covers, and in exhibitions worldwide. In addition to his photography, Oriol has directed music videos for renowned artists like Blink 182, D12, and Cypress Hill. He has also collaborated with Mister Cartoon for Joker Brand Clothing and Soul Assassins Studios. Oriol's career began as a bouncer at hip-hop clubs, later transitioning to tour manager for Cypress Hill and House of Pain, where he started documenting his life on the road.
