Esthero (born Jenny-Bea Christina Englishman on December 23, 1978) is a Canadian singer-songwriter. She is known for her unique sound which combines mellow bass lines, jazzy trumpets, Spanish guitar, and hip-hop elements. Esthero gained popularity as a solo artist and as part of the duo Esthero, consisting of herself and producer Doc McKinney. Her stage name is a combination of the name Esther and a line from Sylvia Plath's novel The Bell Jar. Esthero has co-produced most of her music and has influenced artists such as Res, Fergie, and Nelly Furtado. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California. She has a brother named Jason Englishman who is also a musician.
