Eve Arden Biography
Eve Arden (born Eunice Mary Quedens, April 30, 1908 – November 12, 1990) was an American actress known for her performances in film, radio, stage, and television. With a career spanning nearly six decades, Arden began in the film industry in 1929 and made her Broadway debut in the early 1930s. She gained recognition for her roles in films such as Stage Door (1937), Having Wonderful Time (1938), and Mildred Pierce (1945), for which she received an Academy Award nomination. Arden also appeared in several notable film noir including The Unfaithful (1947) and Anatomy of a Murder (1959). Later in her career, she transitioned to television and portrayed the sardonic yet endearing high school teacher in Our Miss Brooks.
