Evelyn Edwards

Evelyn Grace Edwards (1923 – September 17, 1976) was a Canadian registered nurse and provincial politician. She served as a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, representing the electoral district of Saskatoon Sutherland from 1975 until her death in 1976. Born and educated in Colonsay, Saskatchewan, Edwards graduated as a nurse from Saskatoon City Hospital. She was actively involved in various healthcare organizations, including serving as a trustee and board member for Saskatoon City Hospital and the Saskatchewan Hospital Association. Edwards was also a founding member of the Parkinson's Disease Foundation and served on the board of the Saskatoon Council on Aging. Additionally, she was a dedicated advocate for the visually impaired, serving as a board member for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind at both the Saskatoon and provincial levels. Prior to her political career, Edwards was a member of the Saskatoon City Council from 1966 to 1971. She ran for mayor of the city in 1971 but was unsuccessful.
