Fern Mallis

Fern Mallis is an American fashion executive and consultant. She was born on March 26, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York. Mallis served as the executive director of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) from 1991 to 2001, where she played a key role in creating New York Fashion Week. She later worked as the senior vice president of IMG Fashion from 2001 to 2010. Currently, Mallis is the president of Fern Mallis LLC, her own international fashion and design consultancy. She holds a BFA degree from the University at Buffalo. Mallis started her career in publishing, winning a guest editing competition and eventually working for Mademoiselle magazine for six years.More
