Fiona Hill Biography
Fiona Hill is a British-American foreign affairs specialist and author. Born in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, in 1965, Hill grew up with her coal miner father Alfred Hill and midwife mother June Murray. She earned a Ph.D. in history from Harvard University in 1998 and became a prominent figure in U.S. politics. Hill served as a former official at the U.S. National Security Council, focusing on Russian and European affairs. In November 2019, she testified as a witness in the House hearings regarding the impeachment inquiry during the first impeachment of Donald Trump. Currently, Hill is a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington and assumed the position of Chancellor of Durham University in England in June 2023.
