Fortunio Bonanova Biography
Fortunio Bonanova, born Josep Lluís Moll on January 13, 1895, was a Spanish baritone singer and a versatile actor in film, theater, and television. He was also known for his occasional work as a producer and director. Bonanova adopted his pseudonym as a homage to his desire for fortune and his love for the Bonanova neighborhood in his hometown of Palma. Before pursuing a career in entertainment, Bonanova worked as a telegraph operator. He received musical training from the Italian Giovachini and made his debut as a singer in 1921. Bonanova gained early recognition for his appearance in the silent film adaptation of Don Juan Tenorio in 1921. Throughout his career, he showcased his talents both in front of and behind the camera.
