Francesco Clemente Giuseppe Sparanero, professionally known as Franco Nero, is an Italian actor, producer, and director. Born on November 23, 1941, Nero gained fame for his role as the titular character in the Spaghetti Western film Django (1966), which catapulted him to international stardom. With a career spanning over five decades, Nero has appeared in more than 200 leading and supporting roles in various films and television productions. He was notably active in popular Italian genre trends during the 1960s and 1970s, including poliziotteschi, gialli, and Spaghetti Westerns. Some of his well-known works include The Bible: In the Beginning... (1966), Camelot (1967), Tristana (1970), Enter the Ninja (1981), Die Hard 2 (1990), and Letters to Juliet (2010).
