Frank Prendergast

Frank Prendergast (13 July 1933 – 19 February 2015) was an Irish lecturer, Labour Party politician, and former Mayor of Limerick city. He served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for Limerick East in Dáil Éireann for four years. Prendergast was also an Irish Transport and General Workers' Union (ITGWU) official. He received his education at the Christian Brothers in Limerick and obtained a Diploma in Social and Economic Science from University College Cork. He further pursued his studies and earned an MA in Industrial Relations from Keele University in England. Prendergast stood as a candidate for Dáil Éireann in 1981 and regained his seat in 1982, representing the Labour Party.
