Fred Lynn
Fredric Michael Lynn (born February 3, 1952) is an American former professional baseball player who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1974 through 1990 as a center fielder with the Boston Red Sox, California Angels, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers and San Diego Padres. In 1975, Lynn became the first player to win MLB's Rookie of the Year Award and Most Valuable Player Award in the same year while playing for the Red Sox. He was inducted into the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2002 and the College Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. Lynn was born in Chicago and attended the University of Southern California, where he won three consecutive College World Series titles with the USC Trojans baseball team in 1971, 1972, and 1973.
