Garrett Dutton, better known as G. Love, is an American singer, rapper, and musician. He is most recognized as the frontman for the band G. Love & Special Sauce. Born on October 3, 1972, in the Society Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia, Dutton developed an early passion for music and began playing guitar at the age of eight. Influenced by artists like Bob Dylan, John Hammond Jr., and old school hip-hop acts such as Run-DMC and the Beastie Boys, he honed his skills as a singer, rapper, and harmonica player. Dutton gained popularity by performing solo on the streets of Philadelphia before relocating to Boston. There, he met producer Tom DeMille and embarked on his musical career.
