Garima Arora

Garima Arora is an Indian chef who made history in November 2018 by becoming the first Indian woman to win a Michelin star. Born and raised in Mumbai, Arora initially pursued a career in journalism before following her passion for cooking. She studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and worked with esteemed chefs such as Gaggan Anand, Gordon Ramsay, and René Redzepi before opening her own restaurant, Gaa, in Bangkok. Gaa offers a modern tasting menu that combines traditional Indian techniques with innovative flavors. Arora's culinary excellence earned her multiple accolades, including being named Asia's Best Female Chef in 2019 by World's 50 Best Restaurants.
