Garrett Hines
Garrett Hines is an American bobsledder and former decathlete who competed from the late 1990s to the early 2000s. Born on July 3, 1969, he represented the United States in two Winter Olympics, winning a silver medal in the four-man event in Salt Lake City in 2002. He also achieved success at the 2003 FIBT World Championships, securing a silver medal in the four-man event in Lake Placid, New York. Before his bobsleigh career, Hines participated in track and field as a decathlete and played American football in high school. He attended Eisenhower High in Blue Island, Illinois, and later Bartlett High School. Hines went on to excel in two sports at Southern Illinois University. He currently serves as a lieutenant colonel in the Virginia National Guard and coached the bobsled team at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
