Gary Johnson

Gary Earl Johnson is an American businessman and politician who served as the 29th governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003 as a member of the Republican Party. Since 2011, he has been a member of the Libertarian Party. Johnson was the Libertarian Party's nominee for President of the United States in both the 2012 and 2016 elections. He also ran as the Libertarian nominee in the 2018 U.S. Senate election in New Mexico. During his time as governor, Johnson focused on implementing a low-tax, anti-crime platform and utilized the gubernatorial veto multiple times to cut the annual budget growth. He advocated for school voucher reforms and campaigned on a common-sense business approach.
