Gene Hoglan, born Eugene Victor Hoglan II on August 31, 1967, is an American drummer known for his creativity in drum arrangements and his trademark double-kick drum rhythms. He has earned the nicknames "The Atomic Clock" and "Human Drum Machine" for his technical skill and high accuracy at extreme tempos. Hoglan is best known for his work with bands such as Dark Angel, Death, Strapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend, Fear Factory, Dethklok, and Testament. He has recorded drum tracks for several albums, including Dethklok's The Doomstar Requiem and Testament's Dark Roots of Earth. Hoglan has been recognized as one of the most influential drummers in the metal genre.
