Geoffrey Tozer
Geoffrey Tozer (5 November 1954 - 21 August 2009) was an Australian classical pianist and composer. He was a child prodigy, composing an opera at the age of eight and becoming the youngest recipient of a Churchill Fellowship award at 13. Tozer had a successful career, performing around the world in Europe, America, Australia, and China. He was known for his extensive repertoire of over 100 concertos, including works by Mozart, Beethoven, Liszt, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff. Tozer recorded for the Chandos label and was recognized as a superb recitalist with the ability to improvise and transpose instantly. Despite international acclaim, Tozer was comparatively neglected in Australia during his final years.
