George Solomon Biography
George Solomon (born c. 1940) is an American journalist known for his work as a sports editor and columnist at The Washington Post. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1963 and joined The Washington Post in 1972. Solomon held various roles at the newspaper, including assistant managing editor for sports from 1975 to 2003 and assistant editor until his retirement. He currently writes a weekly Sunday column for the paper. In addition to his work at The Washington Post, Solomon served as the first ombudsman for ESPN. During his time as ombudsman, he openly addressed potential conflicts of interest, as several of his former colleagues at The Washington Post also worked at ESPN.
