Gerry Turner
Gerry Turner (1921–1982) was an American children's fiction author and portrait photographer. He wrote 7 books, including the fairy tale 'Magic Night for Lillibet' and the science fiction novel 'Stranger from the Depths'. Turner also authored 'Creative Crafts for Everyone' and 'The Teen Model Fact Book' between 1959 and 1968. As a portrait photographer, he was known for his work with children and some of his images are part of the White House's permanent collection. Turner's photography was commissioned both privately and for editorial publications. He also traveled to Ireland on behalf of the Irish Tourist Board, capturing the country and its people through his lens. Turner resided in Westport, Connecticut, with his wife Juliana, a painter, and their children, who are also accomplished artists.
