Glen Sather
Glen Cameron 'Slats' Sather is a Canadian ice hockey player, coach, and executive. Born on September 2, 1943, he is currently the senior advisor and alternate governor of the New York Rangers in the NHL. Sather had a successful tenure as the Rangers' general manager and later served as their president. He is best known for coaching the Edmonton Oilers to four Stanley Cup victories during the 1980s. Sather played a key role in attracting talented players, including Wayne Gretzky, who helped establish the Oilers as a dominant force in hockey. Sather also contributed to building successful Canadian national teams for various tournaments, including the 1984 Canada Cup and 1994 Ice Hockey World Championship.
