Glenn Stanton Biography
Glenn Stanton (1895-1969) was an American architect known for his work in Portland, Oregon. He practiced as an architect from 1925 until his death in 1969. Stanton served as the president of the American Institute of Architects from 1951 to 1953. Born on May 17, 1895, in Humboldt, Iowa, Stanton was raised in Portland and attended the public schools there. He completed his education at the University of Oregon in 1917, but his studies were interrupted by World War I. Stanton served in the United States Army in Europe from 1918 to 1919. After further studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he returned to Portland in 1922 and joined the office of Morris H. Whitehouse. In 1935, Stanton left to establish his own architectural practice.
