Grace Wang

Jinliu 'Grace' Wang is a Chinese American engineer and academic administrator. She currently serves as the 17th president of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Wang has also held the position of interim president at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute from July 2018 to November 2020. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in polymer materials from the Beijing University of Chemical Technology. Wang continued her education by obtaining a PhD in materials science and engineering from Northwestern University. Prior to her administrative roles, Wang worked at IBM and Hitachi, focusing on research and development in magnetic thin film and carbon overcoat for data storage. She holds seven U.S. patents and has made significant contributions to the field of nanotechnology, advanced materials, and manufacturing during her time at the National Science Foundation.
