Graham Chapman Biography
Graham Chapman (8 January 1941 – 4 October 1989) was a British actor, comedian, and writer. He was a member of the surreal comedy group Monty Python, known for his portrayals of authority figures in their films, including The Colonel in Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) and the lead role in Life of Brian (1979). Chapman was born in Leicester and raised in Melton Mowbray. Despite graduating from Cambridge and St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College, he chose a career in comedy over medicine. He formed a successful writing partnership with John Cleese and contributed to the critical acclaim of Monty Python in the 1970s. Chapman also attempted a career in American television, produced the film Yellowbeard (1983), and was known for being openly homosexual and a supporter of LGBTQ+ rights.
