    Grant Achatz Biography
    Grant Achatz (born April 25, 1974) is an American chef and restaurateur known for his contributions to molecular gastronomy. He is the owner and executive chef of Alinea, a highly acclaimed restaurant in Chicago. Achatz's culinary career began in his parents' restaurants in St. Clair, Michigan, followed by his enrolment at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After graduating in 1994, he worked at Charlie Trotter's and later at Thomas Keller's renowned restaurant, The French Laundry. Achatz spent four years there, eventually becoming the sous chef. In 2001, he opened Alinea which has received numerous accolades and awards for its innovative cuisine.
