Gregory Scott Shapiro (born 1968) is a Dutch American comedian and author. He is best known as a member of the comedy group Boom Chicago and as the host of the Dutch satirical news program Comedy Central News. Shapiro was born in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Theater. In 1994, he moved to the Netherlands to help establish Boom Chicago, where he worked with notable comedians like Seth Meyers and Jordan Peele. Shapiro has also gained popularity through his viral videos and vlogs, such as the FloridaVotingMachine video and his video weblog Highly Dubious News. He is the author of books like How to Be Orange: An Alternative Dutch Assimilation Course and How to Be Dutch: the Quiz.
