Born on November 16, 1953, in Cardiff, Rhys Jones gained national recognition in the 1980s for his work alongside Mel Smith in the BBC comedy sketch shows Not the Nine O'Clock News and Alas Smith and Jones. He has also presented the television bloopers show It'll be Alright on the Night from 2008 to 2016, taking over from Denis Norden.
