Gus Casely-Hayford
Gus Casely-Hayford is a British curator, cultural historian, broadcaster, and lecturer. He was born in 1964 and has ancestral Ghanaian roots in the Casely-Hayford family, which is a cadet branch of the Cape Coast royal dynasty. Currently, Casely-Hayford serves as the Director of V&A East and was previously the Director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington, DC. He has been recognized for his contributions to arts and culture, receiving an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in June 2018. Additionally, Casely-Hayford is a Professor of Practice at SOAS and has presented a TV series called Tate Walks for Sky Arts. He has been honored with various awards, including the Leader of the Year for Arts and Media by the Black British Business Awards in 2017.
